What services does HomeTech Media Solutions offer?  

HomeTech Media Solutions provides a range of technical solutions for homes and small businesses. Our services include computer and network system support, home theater setup & installation, smart home device installation & configuration, and multimedia organization. 

What areas do you serve?  

We proudly provide on-site service to our neighbors in Irmo, SC, at no additional charge. For nearby communities, a simple $25 travel fee is applied to cover fuel and maintenance costs. If you live a bit further out, please give us a call to discuss availability and fees. 

How do you charge for your services?  

Many services, such as Network & Computer Services and Technical Support, are charged at a standard rate of $75 for the first hour and $35/hr thereafter. Home Theater and Smart Home services often have flat rates or package pricing. Training and Data Management services are $50/hr. Custom projects will receive a personalized quote. 

Do you offer remote support?  

Yes, remote support is available for most Network & Computer Services and Technical Support services when appropriate, at a rate of $50/hr. This option is perfect for quick fixes and efficient troubleshooting. 

What is a Project Consultation & Diagnostic session?  

This is an on-site or remote diagnostic session (up to 60 minutes) for $75. It's a comprehensive session to diagnose technical issues, assess needs for larger projects, and provide an expert action plan. The full Diagnostic Fee is credited toward any project or service you book with us. 

Do you offer emergency or rush services?  

Yes, we offer Rush Service subject to availability. A Same Day Service Request adds $35 to your service total , and a Next Day Service Request adds $25 to your service total. 

What payment methods do you accept?  

Payment is due upon completion of service for all standard services. For larger or custom projects requiring a proposal, specific payment terms will be outlined in the proposal. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and ACH Bank Transfer. 

Can you help me set up a new computer or laptop, including accessories? 

Absolutely. We offer new computer/laptop setup and configuration, which includes unboxing and setting up your device as well as configuration and updates. Installing accessories like printers and scanners can be done at additional cost. 

Do you offer services for small businesses?  

Yes, we provide Small Business Support, including network and device support for network devices, PCs/laptops, and printers. This service is ideal for small and home offices, helping them maintain efficient and reliable technology infrastructure. 

I want to mount my new TV. Do I need to provide the TV mount?  

Yes, because clients’ needs and tastes vary, they are expected to provide the TV mount although we are more than capable of offering suggestions for a particular mounting location. We offer TV mounting services for various screen sizes, with custom quotes for TVs larger than 65", complex surfaces (brick, stone), or installations above fireplaces. 

What is included in a Full Home Theater Install?  

The Full Home Theater Install package, priced at $200 for up to 4 hours, includes the configuration of multiple home theater components such as your TV, audio system, streaming devices, and remote control. Please note that TV and speaker installations are not included in this specific package. Additional time beyond 4 hours is only $40/hr. 

Can you help me with my smart home devices like Wi-Fi cameras or smart thermostats?  

Yes, we support a variety of smart devices, including Wi-Fi cameras, video doorbells, smart thermostats, voice assistants (Alexa, Google, Siri), smart plugs, and switches. We offer packages for setting up multiple devices (Essential and Starter packages) and even individual device setups. 

Can you help me organize my digital files and photos?  

Yes, we offer Digital Data Organization services, which include email cleanup, file structuring, cloud migration planning & setup, and photo organization strategies. We can also help set up media servers (like Emby or Plex) to professionally present your media library. 

What's your policy on cable management?  

We offer Cable Management as a standalone service for $40. If added to another service visit, it's $20. We also offer Cable Labeling (both ends labeled) for $15 for up to 10 cables when added to another service. 

What if I need help with something not listed in your services?  

If you have any questions at all about services not listed, we are still happy to listen and offer advice. We provide proposals for custom projects as well. If it’s tech, we solve it... simply.
